TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Requests for Awards for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $118,795 for Stipulations with Request for Award, and $77.31 per week for a Life Pension for the claim of John Bretza; and $87,600 for the claim of Ted Hulsey in compliance with the Appeals Board Orders.

DISCUSSION
John Bretza has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on July 17, 2007 approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and John Bretza, based upon 1) an 80 percent disability rating, and 2) a further provision for a Life Pension at the rate of $77.31 per week after the permanent disability has been fully paid.  Finally, there would be a provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.
