TITLE
Recommendation to request City Manager, or designee, to accept an easement deed for street purposes at 4110 Santa Fe Avenue.
(District 8)
DISCUSSION
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is constructing a new school at 4100 Santa Fe Avenue along the boundary of the City of Long Beach. Because their project requires the addition of a bus pullout lane on Santa Fe Avenue and new sidewalk in areas now outside the public right-of-way, a street easement is required as shown on the attached Exhibit A.
LAUSD paid the appropriate fees and provided signed easement deeds for street purposes to the City of Long Beach. The new street and sidewalk areas will be constructed as a part of the new school project.
In conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act, LAUSD certified a Final Environmental Impact Report for this project on April 24, 2007 (State Clearinghouse Number 2005041116).
This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Linda Trang on July 15, 2009, and Budget and Performance Management Bureau Manager David Wodynski on February 8, 2010.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action on this matter is not time critical.
FISCAL IMPACT
A document-processing fee of $1 ,057 was paid by LAUSD and deposited in the General Fund (GP 100) in the Department of Public Works (PW).
SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.
