TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,000, offset by the Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to Latinos in Action to support their annual fundraiser on August 18, 2023; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

Councilmember Roberto Uranga would like to support Latinos in Action’s annual fundraiser, which occurred on August 18, 2023.

Latinos in Action California hosted their annual fundraiser at We the People Public High School on August 18, 2023. All proceeds from the event will fund the expansion of youth programs that nurture the potential of tomorrow’s leaders and benefit our community.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on August 25, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to Latinos in Action to support their annual fundraiser as written above. The total appropriation increase of $1,000 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Seventh Council District One-time District Priority funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to have minimal impact on staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

ROBERTO URANGA, COUNCILMEMBER
