TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,289, offset by the Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to Los Cerritos Wetlands Stewards to support a community planting event; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,289 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

In an effort to beautify the community and engage residents throughout a number of neighborhoods, funding is sought in support of a community planting event. Residents often take great pride in their community and appreciate the opportunity to play an active role in its beautification. This serves the dual purpose of improving the district and bringing residents together in a positive way that highlights giving back to the City and helping.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on June 24, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

The recommendation requests the City Manager to provide support to Los Cerritos Wetlands Stewards for a community planting event.  The total appropriation increase of $1,289 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department.  The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

SUZIE PRICE COUNCILWOMAN,
