DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Frontier Ford for the purchase of three Ford F-250, CNG-fueled, Super Cab trucks. The trucks will support the operations of the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department, Animal Care Services Bureau (Animal Care). Sufficient replacement funds have been collected to replace these three units, which are two years past their scheduled replacement. This equipment is part of the approved replacement plan for FY 16. The new units are the same make and model as the current vehicles being used by Animal Care, therefore, enabling operational equipment to be transferred instead of replacing with new equipment. The new units are CNG-fueled, which is a less expensive and more environmentally beneficial alternative to the current gasoline fueled trucks.
