TITLE
Recommendation to adopt resolution authorizing the application for the Sixteenth Cycle Household Hazardous Waste Grant and Implementation. (Citywide)

DISCUSSION
The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) provides grants to local jurisdictions to establish or expand Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facilities or innovative materials collection programs. Staff is in the process of identifying suitable locations for the Depot.

Typically, the County operates these types of facilities a few days per week for six hours per day. For example, it might be open to the public and operate Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It will be constructed in a sustainable manner and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification will be sought.
