TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $18,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Valierie Ladew v. City of Long Beach and John Michael Evans.
DISCUSSION
On July 18, 2003, a Water Department vehicle was involved in a traffic collision with a private vehicle driven by Plaintiff. As a result of the accident, plaintiff incurred medical expenses, property damage and lost earnings. A proposed global settlement in the amount of $1 8,000.00 was presented to the Economic Development and Finance Committee on February 15, 2005, and was approved on that date.
We therefore ask authority to pay the sum of $1 8,000 in full settlement of this lawsuit against the City of Long Beach.
