TITLE
Recommendation to refer to the Charter Amendment Committee a discussion of possible measures to stabilize the budget for the Tidelands Operating Fund.
DISCUSSION
The City Council conducted a study session on October 6, 2009 to discuss the Harbor Department's annual transfer to the Tidelands Operating Fund. At the study session, a number of options were discussed to help stabilize the budget for the Tidelands Operating Fund, which is facing significant projected revenue reductions. Some of those options would require amending the City's Charter, including revising how the Harbor Department's annual transfer is calculated.
We request that these options now be referred to the Charter Amendment Committee for further discussion and possible action.
