TITLE
Recommendation to receive a presentation of a check to be given to the City of Long Beach on behalf of the Livingston Park Tot Lot.

DISCUSSION
The Livingston Tot Lot is located at the corner of Livingston Street and Park Avenue in the Belmont Shore neighborhood of Long Beach, California. The Tot Lot is one of the most popular playgrounds for toddlers in the Long Beach area.

In the 1990's the idea for the Livingston Park Tot Lot was proposed by a group of community members and with the City's help and private fundraising the playground was built. The proposed 2007 renovation of the tot lot will include new playground equipment, an expansion of the existing playground area and improved landscaping.

The Tot Lot Committee has accomplished an amazing task in reaching their fundraising goal of $150,000. The committee started their hard work during the summer of 2007, and finished on January 31 st. The presentation of the check is the culmination of a remarkable community driven endeavor.
