TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,018, offset by the Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a payment to Southern California Edison for district street lighting infrastructure investments; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,018 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

Southern California Edison (SCE) manages and maintains electrical infrastructure throughout Long Beach. Therefore, it is necessary for the City of Long Beach to work with SCE on proactive street lighting infrastructure improvements.

This item was reviewed by Recovery Budget Officer Dee Okam on September 25, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a payment to Southern California Edison for Council District infrastructure investments. The total appropriation increase of $1,018 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and have a minimal impact on City Council priorities.  There is no local job impact associated with this item.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Respectfully Submitted,

SUZIE PRICE COUNCILWOMAN,
