DISCUSSION
Centro CHA is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 to improve and advance the Latino/Hispanic community. Through its integrated approach, Centro CHA serves its members with a variety of services, including immigration legal services, youth development, workforce development, business support, and violence prevention efforts.

Centro CHA is a beacon of hope for the Latino/Hispanic community, offering a familiar and trusting partnership. The organization envisions a thriving space where investments for low-income environments are a priority, residents are connected and civically engaged, unemployment is low, and there is an abundance of readily available resources and housing.

Centro CHA's work is made possible by its team, community leaders, and the people it serves.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on October 3, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide contributions of $3,000 to Centro CHA to support their causes as written above. The appropriation increase of $3,000 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the Eighth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
