TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay the sum of $8,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Christian v. City of Long Beach,
Case No. NC037428.
DISCUSSION
This lawsuit arises out of a trip and fall accident which took place on a broken section of city sidewalk during evening hours. The plaintiff sustained injuries as a result of the fall and required medical attention. A mediation was held before a retired judge. A tentative settlement of $8,000.00 was reached, subject to City Council approval.
The Economic Development and Finance Committee approved the proposed settlement on February 6, 2006.
