DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to execute a contract with Comforts of Home Services, Inc., to provide as-needed repairs and replacement of heavily used modular restroom facilities at the Belmont Pool site. Two of the modular facilities will be replaced as it is more cost effective to replace the facilities than perform the repairs needed. A third modular facility will receive repairs and upgraded equipment to support the ongoing operations of the Belmont Pool and the needs of the City’s aquatic community.

The outdoor pool was constructed in 2014 and on October 5, 2017, the Local Coastal Development Permit was extended through April 8, 2025. Through the extension process, it was determined that upgrades to the five-year old existing facilities were warranted to support the outdoor pool through 2025; therefore, conditions of approval for the extension require the facilities to be upgraded.

Comforts of Home Services, Inc., constructed the original support facilities under the original procurement. Comforts of Home Services, Inc., custom built the existing facilities to comply with the number of bathroom stalls and shower amenities needed based on the occupancy of the pool. Using the same vendor for the replacement facilities will ensure the same electrical and plumbing service connections can be maintained and the modular facilities will fit within the area identified.
