TITLE

1) Historical Society of Long Beach, in the amount of $5,000, in support of their annual cemetery tour.

3) WomenShelter of Long Beach, in the amount of $2,500, in support of their annual fundraising event.

DISCUSSION
Councilwoman Stacy Mungo Flanigan would like to support the following annual events and community programming:

· Historical Society of Long Beach: Sponsorship of their 26th Annual Historical Cemetery Tour at Sunnyside and Municipal Cemeteries on Saturday, October 29, 2022, which educates residents on the history of Long Beach residents past.
· David Burcham PTA: in support of their APEX fundraiser and Fun Run, a two-week all-inclusive leadership and fitness-based fundraiser.
· WomenShelter of Long Beach: in support of their annual fundraising event on Thursday, October 13, 2022, which aims to raise funds to eliminate domestic violence through compassionate intervention, education, and personal empowerment.

This matter has been reviewed by Recovery Budget Officer Dee Okam on September 25, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide contributions of $5,000 to Historical Society of Long Beach, $200 to David Burcham PTA, and $2,500 to WomenShelter of Long Beach, to support their events and programs as written above. The total appropriation increase of $7,700 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Fifth Council District One-Time District Priorit...
