Recommendation to refer the suspension/revocation of Entertainment Permit No. BU20656240 for CNR Holdings, LLC, dba Evo Lounge,
5300 E. 2nd Street, to a hearing officer. (District 3)
DISCUSSION
CNR Holdings, LLC, DBA Evo Lounge, was licensed as a restaurant with alcohol on January 24, 2007. On April 3, 2007, the City Council approved entertainment permit No. BU20656240. The permitted entertainment included dancing by patrons, live and amplified music, disc jockey and karaoke.
Pursuant 10 the Long Beach Municipal Code (LBMC), a permit for entertainment may be suspended or revoked following a public hearing before the City Council for reasons including but not limited to grounds that would warrant the denial of the issuance of such permit if application was being made; for failure to comply with any condition imposed on the permit; or for maintaining a nuisance as defined in LBMC 21.15.1870. Whenever it is provided that a hearing shall be heard by the City Council, the Council may, at its discretion, either conduct the hearing itself or appoint a hearing officer. When a permit for entertainment is suspended or revoked, no other entertainment application by such permittee shall be considered for a period of one year.
