TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file a presentation providing an update on the City’s efforts to encourage the production of affordable housing. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
On May 2, 2017, the City Council received and filed the 2017 Report on Revenue Tools and Incentives for the Production of Affordable Workforce Housing, and adopted 29 policy recommendations designed to encourage and/or increase the production of affordable housing. A written update on the implementation of those recommendations was provided to the City Council on October 23, 2017. This presentation is in response to the January 16, 2018 City Council request for a progress report, including additional research and potential policies relating to affordable housing.
This matter was reviewed by Assistant City Attorney Michael J. Mais on February 27, 2018 and by Budget Analysis Officer Julissa José-Murray on February 27, 2018.
