TITLE

Recommendation to request approval from City Council to receive funds from BP in the amount of $5,000 to be used for the tree plantings in the City.

DISCUSSION

The City of Long Beach was recently designated a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation. One of the key actions taken by the City that led to led to the honor is the established a Public Works Tree Care budget of $3.7 million.

I am pleased to report that BP, a leading corporate partner, has made a contribution to the city that will be designated for tree planting. These funds must be formally received by Council action.
