DISCUSSION
Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to ensure political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy, and education to benefit all communities and the status of women. HOPE has focused on empowering our communities through advocacy, Latina leadership training, and increasing knowledge on the contributions Latinas have made to advance the status of women for the past 33 years. This contribution helps support one-day intensive workshops created to empower Latinas to increase their community impact and strengthen their skills and knowledge on community leadership, advocacy strategies, educational growth, healthcare, and financial empowerment.

PARA is an organization that supports residents who live on or near the Promenade in Downtown Long Beach. PARA also supports the Harvey Milk Promenade Park Equality Plaza Committee, which nominates and honors LGTBQ+ persons who have made exceptional contributions to the greater Long Beach area’s LGBTQ+ community.
