TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file a presentation from Department of Health and Human Services on the status of the City's Healthy Food and Vending Policies.  (Citywide)

DISCUSSION
In April 2011, the City Council passed a motion to craft healthy food policies focused on foods served at citywide meetings, and food and beverage items in vending machines.  The two policies developed were the Healthy Snack Food and Beverage Policy and the Healthy Beverage Vending Policy (Attached), which were adopted by the City Council on December 6, 2011.

At its March 10, 2015 meeting, the City Council requested that the Department of Health and Human Services report back to the Council on the status of the City's Healthy Food and Vending policies.  This oral presentation will provide an overview of the impact of these policies over the past four years.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Linda Vu on April 28, 2015, and by Budget Management Officer Victoria Bell on April 29, 2015.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
In order to comply with the City Council's request, this presentation has been scheduled for May 19, 2015.
