TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $10,000, offset by the Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association to support our partnership to create additional painted utility boxes in Council District 7; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $10,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

Councilmember Roberto Uranga previously partnered with the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association to create beautifully designed utility box artwork. Due to the recently redistricting process, there are several new utility boxes in the Wrigley and West Long Beach neighborhoods that could benefit from custom utility box artwork.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association for the utility box art project. The total appropriation increase of $10,000 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal impact of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

ROBERTO URANGA,

COUNCILMEMBER SEVENTH DISTRICT
