TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on the actions taken at the Metropolitan Water District Board meeting held on July 13, 2010.
DISCUSSION
I wish to bring the following actions to the Council's attention.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
The board authorized staff to pursue the option of ground leasing Metropolitan's Palo Verde land for solar energy facility development through a competitive request for proposal process. (Agenda Item 8-2)
ELECTRICAL UPGRADES
The board appropriated $5.55 million, authorized three electrical upgrade projects at the Diemer, Jensen, and Mills water treatment plants, and awarded a $419,680 contract to Dalke & Sons Construction, Inc. for electrical building upgrades at the Skinner Water Treatment Plant. (Agenda Item 8-4)

The board voted to oppose SB 972 (Wolk, D-Davis) regarding indemnity: design professionals (Agenda Item 8-5)
BAY DELTA CONSERVATION PLAN
The board authorized execution of an amendment to the Delta Habitat Conservation and Conveyance Plan Funding Agreement to commit up to an additional $21.5 million for Metropolitan's share of costs to prepare the environmental documentation and associated preliminary engineering design for the Bay Delta Conservation Plan. (Agenda Item 8-6)
MWDOC-IRVINE RANCH AGREEMENT
The board authorized executing an agreement with the Municipal Water District of Orange County for the delivery of water supplies from Irvine Ranch Water District's Central Valley Storage Program. (Agenda Item 8-7)
