TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $70,000, in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Job Mendoza v. City of Long Beach, Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. 20STCV25354.

DISCUSSION

Plaintiff alleges he tripped and fell over a raised portion of sidewalk on October 18, 2019, resulting in injuries.

Following extensive negotiations, Plaintiff agreed to accept $70,000.00 -inclusive of costs and fees - as a full and final settlement of this case.

The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Government Operations and Efficiency Committee (Attorney/Client) on September 19, 2023.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
