TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file FY 2003-04 Annual Report of the Disabled Access Appeals Board in accordance with Long Beach Municipal Code Section 2.18.090.  (Citywide)

DISCUSSION
The Disabled Access Appeals Board was established pursuant to City Council Resolution No. C-23275,
adopted on December 22, 1981, to hear appeals from action taken by the Building
Official/Superintendent of Building and Safety. The Building Official has the responsibility of enforcing
California State regulations governing access to public accommodations by the physically
handicapped.
In FY 2003-04 there were no appeals filed with the Board and, therefore, there were no meetings held.
The Board operations are essential to the efficient, effective and equitable administration of State
disabled access regulations and should be continued.
This item was reviewed by Assistant City Attorney Mike Mais on February 15, 2005.
