TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file a presentation by the City Manager’s Office on the status of recent initiatives by the Aquarium of the Pacific. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
The Aquarium of the Pacific (AoP) is among the City of Long Beach’s (City) most valuable and recognizable assets, attracting many thousands of visitors to Long Beach annually. With the addition of Pacific Visions to the campus in 2019, the Aquarium is ranked among the top aquariums in the nation and is internationally known for its educational work and collaborations as well its innovative exhibits and diverse programming. This is to provide the City Council with an update on AoP activities and financial status. This important City asset is managed and operated by a Board of Directors and executive staff who provide critical updates on AoP operations and activities.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal or local job impact associated with this recommendation. This recommendation has no staffing impact beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is consistent with City Council priorities.
