DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Mallory Safety and Supply, LLC (Mallory Safety), for the purchase and delivering of a cyber security assessment. The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) is looking to improve its cyber security posture. Cyber events could place the department at a disadvantage in its ability to protect life and ensure the safety of community members. The cyber security assessment will identify these vulnerabilities and suggest solutions to remediate information technology security defense gaps and ensure compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology regulations.

LBPD researched procurement options for public safety and emergency preparedness equipment and related services and discovered other agencies had completed an open, fair, transparent, and competitive procurement process. The City of Long Beach (City) reviewed the contract options and determined that the contract between the County of Fairfax, Virginia, with Mallory Safety provided the best value to the City.

Mallory Safety was selected based on their competitive pricing, service level, and breadth of product offerings.
