TITLE
Recommendation to adopt resolution supporting the 30th Annual National Night Out.
DISCUSSION
The National Night Out program is an opportunity for neighborhoods in Long Beach to establish police-community partnerships, promote neighborhood safety, awareness, and cooperation in areas of concern such as crime, drugs, and violence prevention. By raising the awareness of the importance of neighborhood involvement in crime prevention over the past 30 years, the National Night Out program has established greater solidarity in efforts to improve public safety.
Since 2008, the Wrigley Area Neighborhood Alliance, Inc. ("WANA") has supported National Night Out, resulting in an increase in community participation and awareness. In support of the commitment from WANA and other community efforts, this resolution will proclaim and recognize Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 as the so" Annual National Night Out.

There is no significant fiscal impact for this resolution.
