DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Sully-Miller Contracting Company (Sully-Miller), for the addition of 8.4 miles of bicycle infrastructure on the western side of the City of Long Beach (City), including Harding Street, Del Amo Boulevard, San Antonio Drive, Del Mar Avenue and Pacific Avenue.

The project consists of constructing various bike lanes, signed/shared bike routes, two traffic signals, two traffic circles, various curb, gutter and sidewalk sections, landscaping designs and irrigations systems, traffic signal electrical modifications, installing pavement markers, markings, traffic striping, signing and curb paint, and additional informational way finding signage, connecting neighborhood streets within the City to the regional Los Angeles River Class I bike path system. This bid was advertised in the Press-Telegram on August 7, 2015, and 3,577 potential bidders specializing in construction were notified of the bid opportunity.
