TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to the Long Beach Camerata Singers for their summer concerts in the Fourth District; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

The Long Beach Camerata Singers is a non-profit organization with a mission statement of dedicating to excellence in choral music. They enrich the lives of our communities and performers through a broad spectrum of repertoire, innovative programming, and arts education. This summer, the Long Beach Camerata Singers will be hosting four community concerts in District Four. These concerts are free and open to the public. A $500 contribution will fund the cost of venue permits.

This item was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on June 10, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to the Long Beach Camerata Singers for their summer concerts. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation from the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION
