Recommendation to adopt Specifications No. ITB FS15-210 and award a contract to Reynolds Buick, Inc., of Covina, CA, for the purchase of two GMC Yukon, 4-wheel drive utility vehicles, in a total amount not to exceed $103,935, inclusive of taxes and fees. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Reynolds Buick, Inc., for the purchase of two GMC Yukon, 4-wheel drive utility vehicles. However, since these police vehicles are no longer manufactured, a new vehicle type is required. In order to support emergency operations, increase capacity for supplies for command operations, and provide higher clearance when there is flooding on the airfield, a larger, utility-type vehicle was requested.
The bid was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on October 1, 2015, and 510 potential bidders specializing in transportation, automotive parts and services were notified of the bid opportunity.
