DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to amend Contract No. 35925 with Performance Abatement Services, Inc., Contract No. 35928 with Vizion’s West, Inc., and Contract No. 35941 with Watson Painting Corporation, to continue providing lead-based paint removal and mitigation services. The request to amend and extend the contracts will allow the continuation of lead remediation services and the completion of grant performance requirements.

On March 9, 2021, the City Council awarded contracts to Performance Abatement Services Inc., Vizion’s West, Inc., and Watson Painting Corporation as part of its adoption of RFP HE20-072 for lead-based paint removal and mitigation services for the period of two years, with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods. These contracts were in support of the Health and Human Services Department's $4.1 million cost-reimbursement grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

On April 5, 2022, the City Council authorized acceptance of new grant funding from HUD, covering the period of April 15, 2022 to October 15, 2025. The grant award amount, totaling $4,579,224, includes $1,818,000 specifically for construction services related to lead-based paint abatement and in-home hazard mitigation.
