TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to CSULB 49er Foundation for the second annual Wings of Hope virtual event; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

The Division of Student Affairs at CSULB will be hosting the second annual Wings of Hope Event virtually on April 10th, 2021. This event will support the 1,000 undocumented students across campus. This donation will help provide scholarships, book grants and other important resources.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on March 25, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a donation of $500 to the CSULB 49er Foundation for the second annual Wings of Hope virtual event. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department is offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the Citywide Activities Department. Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,
