TITLE
Recommendation to receive supporting documentation into the record; conclude the public hearing; and adopt a resolution establishing parking fees of $4 per day and $35 per month for monthly parking in the City-owned parking lots located on Broadway between Long Beach Boulevard and Elm Avenue. (District 2)

DISCUSSION
The City-owned parking lots located on Broadway between Long Beach Boulevard
and Elm Avenue were previously used by the Police Department when they
occupied City Hall East. Since the Police Department moved back to the Police
Safety Building in the Civic Center complex, these parking lots are now available for
public parking. The proposed Resolution establishes a daily rate of $4.00 per day
and a monthly parking rate of $35.00 per month for parking in those lots. These
rates are consistent with other parking lots in the immediate area. It is also
proposed that parking rates for special events be established by the City Manager
based on the market rate for the event.
This matter was reviewed and the Resolution prepared by Deputy City Attorney J.
Charles Parkin on September 23, 2005 and reviewed by Budget Management
Officer David Wodynski on September 20,2005.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
