TITLE

Recommendation to adopt resolution declaring the results of the Special Municipal Election held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.

DISCUSSION

Attached is the Resolution prepared by the City Attorney pertaining to the results of the Special Municipal Election held on November 5, 2019. A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Long Beach declaring the results of the Special Municipal Election held in the City of Long Beach, California, on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, for the purpose of electing a candidate for the Office of Member of the City Council from the First Councilmanic District; and directing the City Clerk to issue a Certificate of Election to the candidate declared to have been elected at the Special Municipal Election.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

Approval of the recommended action on December 3, 2019will meet the provisions of Elections Code Sections 10262 and 10263.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Amy Webber on November 13, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT

Adopting the Resolution declaring the results of the First Councilmanic District election will have no fiscal impact.
