TITLE

Recommendation to adopt resolution authorizing City Manager to execute all master agreements, funding agreements, fund transfer agreements and any amendments thereto, with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.  (Citywide)

DISCUSSION

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) is the administrator of County funds that flow to cities to support transportation projects, which it administers in compliance with its Board of Directors. Acceptance and expenditure of these funds require execution of a master agreement covering the City as a whole, as well as funding agreements specific to projects. Funding sources include, but are not limited to, Measure R, Proposition A and Proposition C. The attached Resolution is to authorize the City to enter into all agreements.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Linda T. Vu on September 15, 2016 and by Revenue Management Officer Julissa José-Murray on September 21, 2016.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

City Council action is requested on October 11, 2016, in preparation of future agreements with LACMTA.

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. Approval of the recommendation does not constitute an approval for construction of projects. Specific projects and requests to appropriate funding will continue to come before the City Council on a project-by-project basis, in accordance with City policies and procedures.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
