TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay the sum of $10,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Colletta v. City of Long Beach, et al., Case No. NC038923.
DISCUSSION
This suit arises out of a City employee, driving a City vehicle during the course and scope of his employment, colliding with plaintiff's vehicle which had the right of way. The plaintiff sustained injuries and incurred medical expenses.
During a Mandatory Settlement Conference before Judge Tracey Grant, the parties were able to reach a tentative settlement agreement of $8,750.00, subject to City Council approval.
The Economic Development and Finance Committee approved the proposed settlement on July 17, 2007.
