TITLE
Recommendation to request City Attorney to gather examples of City Council rules from other cities and prepare a report that lays out options for the City Council to review.
DISCUSSION
For many years, the Long Beach City Council has operated under Robert's Rules of Order with regard to procedures for developing and debating legislative issues. At this time, there may be a need to further develop Council Rules that define
and clarify procedures for City Council referrals, agenda items, related items for discussion and rules under which to act.
Recommendation : We respectfully request that the City Attorney be requested to gather examples of city council rules from other cities, and report back to the city council with a
report that lays out options for the City Council to review.
