TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $350, offset by the First Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department, to provide a donation to The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach in support of the QFilms Festival 2023; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $350 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
Art is a means of expression, education, and inspiration. The QFilms Festival, organized by The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach, is celebrating 30 years of sharing some of the best LGBTQ independent films. This festival is a queer celebration of the art of storytelling, and it adds to our city’s equitable vision of building a city that is inclusive and rich in cultural diversity. It is appropriate for City Council to support these efforts.

This item requires urgency so as to allow a timely transfer of funds.
