TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report from the City Clerk on
"2 Vote Tuesday."

DISCUSSION
On Tuesday, June 6 the City of Long Beach will be holding its municipal elections. Additionally, the County of Los Angeles will be holding its statewide primary elections. Voters will be casting two separate ballots with two different voting systems. The management of these efforts requires coordination with the County of Los Angeles on procedure, polling places , balloting, poll workers and
other various elements. To ensure that Long Beach voters are aware of the process, the City Clerk' s office has created the "2 Vote Tuesday" outreach effort.  In order to prepare for "2 Vote Tuesday" the Council should be fully briefed on the upcoming election process , outreach efforts , and any issues that could develop. I respectfully request a report from the City Clerk on the mechanisms in place to coordinate efforts and keep voters informed for the elections of June 6, 2006.
