Recommendation to receive and file report of Mayor Foster's trip to Washington, D.C.
DISCUSSION
On February 5-7, I traveled to Washington, D.C. to speak at a symposium on the topic of "Homeland Security: The Ripple Effect." At this event government officials, first responders and emergency planners discussed the potential cascading impacts of terrorism and natural disasters on our communities. Through discussions we identified the resources, planning and training necessary to prepare for such an event.

Approve recommendation.
