Recommendation to request City Manager to receive and file the documentary "The Story of Houghton Park - The Heart of North Town" into the record. The purpose of the documentary is to highlight the history and significance of Houghton Park to the community of North Long Beach.
DISCUSSION
Houghton Park has been a community jewel and staple in the North Long Beach community for over 80 years. It has a very unique history, from the Donner Party to the Houghton Farm. Today, it services a diverse community of all ages from youth to seniors.
Houghton Park has stood steadfast through the years as a beacon for youth programming and senior services. The short video highlights the history and significance of Houghton Park, from the perspectives of its many patrons and historical experts.
