Recommendation to receive and file presentation for Long Beach Pony League All-Star Team, World Series Champions.
DISCUSSION
On August 19, the Long Beach Pony League All-Star team from Whaley Park became 2012 World Series Champions. This talented group showed tremendous individual and team effort to come together and bring the title home to our City.
The League and All-Star Team has an extensive history with the World Series. In addition to having won the World Series in 2008, they were runner-up in 2007 and made it to the final four of the series in 2011.
The team finished the season with an impressive 18 wins and a perfect World Series record of 5-0. We are honored to have the players and coaches represent our City. On behalf of the City of Long Beach, they are presented with certificates of recognition and will be honored in a presentation.
