TITLE

Recommendation to receive and file report on travel to Washington, D.C. on June 2 - 3, 2016.

DISCUSSION

On June 2-3, 2016, I traveled to Washington, D.C. to represent the City of Long Beach at a two-day My Brother's Keeper Community Challenge Workshop and Convening. The MBK workshop and convening was co-hosted by the White House and Bloomberg Philanthropies.

The working sessions included workshops, briefings and an opportunity to discuss the City's Safe Long Beach Violence Prevention Plan and Long Beach's MBK Local Action Plan.

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact with the filing of this report.

Approve recommendation.
