TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $7,500 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Alberta Cabrera v City of Long Beach, et al.
DISCUSSION
On May 6, 2011, Mrs. Alberta Cabrera was walking to work, at or near Hoffman Avenue, in Long Beach, when she tripped and fell on a 3-4" sidewalk uplift. The plaintiff was injured, received extensive medical treatment and did not work for approximately one year.
After extensive discussion, a tentative settlement of $7,500 was reached.
The Economic Development and Finance Committee approved the proposed settlement on April 2, 2013
