TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to the Boy Scouts of America Long Beach Area Chapter for their annual Distinguished Citizen Dinner; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
The Boy Scouts of America prioritize community service, helping others, and civic engagement. With this emphasis, they provide a positive benefit to Long Beach and instill a sense of responsibility and leadership in our youth. As a result, it is appropriate for the City of Long Beach to support the Boy Scouts of America Long Beach Area Chapter.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to the Boy Scouts of America Long Beach Area Chapter for their annual Distinguished Citizen Dinner. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and have a minimal impact on City Council priorities. There is no local job impact associated with this item.
