TITLE
Recommendation to approve a Third Amendment to Employment Agreement with Thomas B. Modica, City Manager, Contract No. 35514, to increase the City Manager’s current annual compensation by five percent (5%) for an annual compensation amount of $309,612.93 at the hourly rate of $148.343 per hour effective July 31, 2021; and
Adopt resolution amending Section 2 of Resolution No. RES-20-0108, known as the Salary Resolution of the City of Long Beach, to implement the Third Amendment to terms of the employment agreement with Thomas B. Modica, City Manager. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
Pursuant to Section 300 of the City Charter and the deliberations of the City Council at Closed Session on July 6, 2021, the City Council authorized the terms of a Third Amendment to Agreement with City Manager, Thomas B. Modica.
On July 1, 2021, pursuant to the terms of the Employment Agreement, the City Manager received a 1.45% Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase for an annual compensation amount of $294,869.46. The City shall pay the City Manager five percent (5%) merit increase for an annual salary of $309,612.93 at the hourly rate of $148.343 per hour.
The attached Resolution amends Section 2 of Resolution No. RES-20-0108, relating to salary range number 990 (City Manager) in the Salary Schedule (Attachment D thereto) as follows:
