TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,000, offset by $1,000 in Eighth Council District One-time District Priority Funds and $1,000 in Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department, to provide a donation to the Los Cerritos Neighborhood Association to support the summer concerts at Los Cerritos Park; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $2,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
BACKGROUND:
The Los Cerritos Neighborhood Association traditionally hosts two summer concerts at Los Cerritos Park that are free for the entire community to enjoy. The Los Cerritos Neighborhood Association is planning two concerts to take place in August, and the use of the One-time District Priority Funds will help with some of the costs of these concerts so the entire community can enjoy additional music in our parks this summer.
This matter has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on July 2, 2021.
STATEMENT OF URGENCY:
The approval of this item will help ensure the timely processing of the contribution to help plan for and pay expenses for the upcoming concerts.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to the Los Cerritos Neighborhood Association to support the 2021 summer concerts at Los Cerritos Park. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,000 will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of $1,000 of the Eighth Council District General Fund Group One-time District Priority Funds and $1,000 of the Seventh Council District General Fund Group One-time District Priority Funds in the Citywide Activities Department. Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact on staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is anticipated to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
