TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,500, offset by the Fifth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association (BKBIA) to support their ongoing programming at free community events and support their ongoing mission; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
Councilwoman Megan Kerr would like to provide a contribution to the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association (BKBIA) to support their ongoing programming at free community events and support their ongoing mission. The purpose of the BKBIA is to promote the interests of its professional, service and retail members, to enhance the common areas within the BIA area, to facilitate the exchange of business information and ideas, and to promote the highest business and ethical standards.
This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on August 3, 2023.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution of $1,500 to the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association in support of the purpose written above. The total appropriation increase of $1,500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Fifth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities. There is no local job impact associated with this recommendation.
