TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotions Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $250, offset by the Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to California Families in Focus for their Annual Trans Parade; and
Decrease appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotions Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $250 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
INTRODUCTION:
Long Beach continues to be a City that celebrates all people with the goal of ensuring everyone knows they are appreciated and celebrated. On September 18th, 2021 at Recreation Park from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Long Beach Trans Pride will celebrate its first annual parade to highlight, empower, inspire and normalize the vibrant Trans and Non-binary community, and to show strength in unity with Trans people.
Therefore, it is appropriate for the City of Long Beach to support this event that brings positivity, acceptance, and a sense of community to our City.
This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on July 30, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a donation to California Families in Focus for their First Annual Trans Parade. The total appropriation increase in the Special Advertising and Promotions Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $250 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District one-time District Priority Funds in the Special Advertising and Promotions Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
