TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $60,720 for the claim of Arcelia Delgado; authority to pay 1) $127,075 and 2) to pay $92.77 per week for a Life Pension for the claim of James Jones; and authority to pay 1) $5,940 and 2) separate authority to pay $187,934 with a Life Pension thereafter of $162.34 per week for the claim of Michael Kinnee, in compliance with the Appeals Board Orders.
DISCUSSION
Arcelia Delgado has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of her employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on September 1, 2009, approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Arcelia Delgado, based upon a 49 percent disability rating, with a provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.
James Jones has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on September 1, 2009, approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and James Jones, based upon (1) an 84 percent disability rating and (2) a further provision for a Life Pension at the rate of $92.77 per week after the permanent disability has been fully paid. Finally, there would be a provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.
Michael Kinnee has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on September 1, 2009 approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of two Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Michael Kinnee, based upon a 1) a 9 percent disability rating with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and 2) an 81 percent disability rating with a further provision for a life pension at the rate of $162.34 per week after the permanent disability has been paid with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.
